Lago Loft

Overview

A lakeside loft for a couple downsizing from a family house — half the rooms, twice the intention. Everything they kept had to earn its place; everything new had to disappear into calm.

Challenge

One hundred and thirty square metres with lake views on only one side. The plan needed to pull daylight through the full depth of the flat while giving two people who both work from home genuine separation.

Solution

A central oak core holds storage, the kitchen and both desks back-to-back, leaving the perimeter entirely to living and light. Linen, pale stone and oiled ash throughout — the loudest thing in the flat is the view.
